The Durango and Silverton Summer Excursions

Re-live history with the sights and sounds of yesteryear for a truly spectacular journey on board the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Experience the adventure of traveling aboard an authentic, coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive on the same tracks miners, cowboys and settlers of the old west took over a century ago. The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad winds through spectacular & breathtaking canyons in the remote wilderness of the two-million acre San Juan National Forest for an unforgettable year-round adventure.

• Coach Class Cars - There are 2 versions of Coach class cars that accept all ages - The Open Air Gondola or the Vintage Closed Coach cars.
• Deluxe Class - Enjoy upgraded seating including less seats for a roomier ride than the coach classes. Just as in the coach cars, you can choose between the deluxe open air version - the Rio Grande car (ages 12+ only)- or one of 2 closed cars including the San Juan Car (ages 12+ only) and the Prospector Family car which is the only deluxe class car that allows all ages.
• First Class Cars - These options include the open air Silver Vista car (16 years +) which offers a unique glass roof giving you an incredible 180 degree view and the closed version Parlor car (Ages 21+ only) with a private viewing deck from the back of the train. These cars include complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and the Parlor car also includes a full, cash-bar service.
• Presidential Class (ages 21+ only) - The most luxurious of options, the Presidential Cinco Animas car and Nomad car offer two different seating arrangements with only 18 seats per car (compared to 48 in the coach class options) for the most spacious and comfortable seating available. Presidential cars are always the last cars on the train with a private viewing deck from the back so that you enjoy the most unobstructed, magnificent views of the San Juan Mountains available. Of course, these cars also include complimentary non-alcoholic beverages as well as a full, cash-bar service.
